My name is Jim Schroeder. I am an attorney in general practice handling cases in the seven southern counties of New Jersey.
Before pursuing my law license I spent 15 years as a minister, college administrator and working in a teen residential facility. During those years I had the privilege of knowing many families and students with educational disabilities. I have also worked with educational professionals through my time as an administrator and a pastor. My wife is a speech pathologist and both of my parents were educators.
It was not until I was in graduate school that a kindly professor pulled me aside and gave me a test for ADHD that I discovered a key challenge to my educational success. I had somehow made it through elementary, high school and even college (not without bumps along the way of course - I can remember failing classes and never really knowing why) before discovering my disability.
This is why education law is important to me and why I enjoy working with families and educators to help students achieve their very best.
